Two Non-Surgical Ways to Stimulate Your Hair Growth

When your hair starts to shed more frequently, you may be tempted to rush out to the store for a box of minoxidil. Or maybe you get a hair spray color from Amazon to make your hair look fuller.

But not all OTC products work well, and some of them don’t work at all. At Kalos Hair Restoration, we strive to only offer treatments and therapies that will really benefit our patients’ scalps. When you’re in the early stages of needing hair to grow back, we recommend one of two options:

1. Low Level Laser Therapy (LLLT): This gentle therapy uses laser light to stimulate hair follicles to the growth phase. It is completely non-invasive, and may even be administered at home in some cases. LLLT is a perfect first treatment to slow the beginning of thinning hair and help jumpstart regrowth early.

2. Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) with Microneedling: Platelets contain the keys to your immune system. So what’s that got to do with your hair? The stem cells in your platelets stimulate healing and growth. But this treatment has a second part that triggers the body to heal: microneedling. This process creates microscopic wounds to the scalp and covers them with platelet rich plasma. Combined, this is often enough to stimulate damaged hair follicles to enter the growth cycle, and sprout new hair.

Don’t run out to get the latest, greatest, over-the-counter gimmick to grow your hair. The team at Kalos Hair Restoration wants to help you get the full head of hair you miss under the supervision of a doctor using truly therapeutic treatments.
