Hair Growth Treatments: PRP vs. Stem Cell Therapy

Restoring your hair doesn’t have to mean undergoing surgery and having hair follicles transplanted. PRP and stem cell therapy are two non-surgical solutions that may be all you need to enjoy the head full of hair that you once had.

What is PRP?

PRP, or plasma rich platelets uses a sample of your blood to separate and concentrate the plasma from the red blood cells. The plasma contains white blood cells and platelets, which are rich in growth factors. Once separated, the plasma is injected into the hair follicles to stimulate healthy hair growth.

What Is Stem Cell Therapy?

Hair loss occurs when there’s a decreased blood flow to the hair follicles. With stem cell therapy we take the blood cells from the bone marrow (which is where they’re predominantly produced) and purify them. Then, the blood cells are injected into the scalp to trigger new hair growth.

Why Not Both?

Using a combination of both platelet-rich plasma and stem cell therapy, the improvements in hair growth can be even more dramatic.
